Korma Sutra
Located at 12112 W 87th St Pkwy in Lenexa, Kansas, Korma Sutra has become a beloved spot for Indian cuisine lovers. Known for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional service, this restaurant has earned a reputation as one of the best in the Kansas City area.
One of the standout features at Korma Sutra is the quality of the food. The naan, consistently praised for its softness and flavor, is a crowd favorite. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a regular, the curries, especially the mushroom mattar makhani, are a must-try. These dishes are expertly spiced, balancing bold flavors without overpowering the taste buds. The staff goes above and beyond to make each guest feel welcome, often sharing a little sample of their favorite dishes and drinks to enhance the experience.
For those who enjoy a refreshing beverage with their meal, Korma Sutra’s chai tea is another highlight. Cool and aromatic, it pairs perfectly with the rich and hearty curries. Many diners also recommend ordering extra food to take home, as the flavors continue to impress even on the second day.
The restaurant is also known for its accommodating service. For example, guests with dietary restrictions, such as those avoiding alliums like onions and garlic, can feel confident in requesting modifications to their meals. The staff is attentive and flexible, ensuring a comfortable dining experience for all.
While most visitors appreciate the welcoming vibe and flavorful dishes, one unique aspect of Korma Sutra is its ability to cater to a variety of spice preferences. The staff’s willingness to adjust spice levels to suit individual tastes ensures that everyone can enjoy their meal, regardless of how mild or spicy they prefer their food.
Overall, Korma Sutra stands out not just for its amazing food, but also for its exceptional customer service, making it a top choice for anyone in the area looking for an authentic Indian dining experience.
Korma Sutra Reviews
Korma Sutra has likely been my most frequented restaurant of 2024! The staff are The Best. So welcoming and they love to share lil bites and sips of their favorite things throughout your meal. The naan, the curries and the chai tea keep me coming back! PS order extra so you have leftovers to take home. One of my KC go-to dinner spots!
The food was terrific as was the staff. I was treated like a prince. For religious purposes, I don't eat any of the alliums (onions, garlic, etc.). I mentioned this to my server and she was very accommodating. There wasn't even a moment hesitation about whether they could make my food to my preferences. I had the mushroom mattar makhani, mint naan, and mango lassi. The entrée and the naan were hot when they were brought to the table. Both were very flavorful. the makhani was wonderfully spiced. The lassi was cool and refreshing as it should be. My only complaint is that I was racially profiled! I am a Caucasian male. When the server took my order, she asked me if I wanted my food, mild or medium. I was not even given the option of spicy. (there's a Thai restaurant I go to in my hometown. I usually get the food, medium, but every now and again when I'm feeling reckless, I will tell them to make the food spicy, but for an American, not for an Asian) I'm only in town for two nights and I plan on returning to Korma Sutra for dinner tomorrow night.
The best Indian food in the city, and I don't just mean Lenexa. Absolutely delish! Make sure you have empty hands upon entering the restaurant to pick up carryout because while you wait you will be handed sample after sample. You will also likely walk away with a carryout drink in a styrofoam cup. I definitely prefer getting take away food to dining in. The vibe in the restaurant just isn't for me, but Korma has a nice dining room. This is my "go to" place when I want amazing curry!
What an awesome and friendly spot for some of the best Indian food I've had in Kansas City! My wife and I went here on a random night where we did not want to cook and were craving some good butter chicken and Korma Sutra did not disappoint! We really loved the Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken, But the hospitality is the one key thing to note, it's like you're getting welcomed into the family or seeing family after a long time! They served us mango lassi and the most amazing chai tea and rice pudding I've ever had that warmed my soul and let us wash our hands with limes and fresh warm water. It was amazing, and made me feel welcomed. We will most certainly be back!
This is by far me and my wife's favorite Indian restaurant in KC. The Naan is so good and the service is very friendly!
