Korma Sutra Reviews (0)

Korma Sutra has likely been my most frequented restaurant of 2024! The staff are The Best. So welcoming and they love to share lil bites and sips of their favorite things throughout your meal. The naan, the curries and the chai tea keep me coming back! PS order extra so you have leftovers to take home. One of my KC go-to dinner spots!

The food was terrific as was the staff. I was treated like a prince. For religious purposes, I don't eat any of the alliums (onions, garlic, etc.). I mentioned this to my server and she was very accommodating. There wasn't even a moment hesitation about whether they could make my food to my preferences. I had the mushroom mattar makhani, mint naan, and mango lassi. The entrée and the naan were hot when they were brought to the table. Both were very flavorful. the makhani was wonderfully spiced. The lassi was cool and refreshing as it should be. My only complaint is that I was racially profiled! I am a Caucasian male. When the server took my order, she asked me if I wanted my food, mild or medium. I was not even given the option of spicy. (there's a Thai restaurant I go to in my hometown. I usually get the food, medium, but every now and again when I'm feeling reckless, I will tell them to make the food spicy, but for an American, not for an Asian) I'm only in town for two nights and I plan on returning to Korma Sutra for dinner tomorrow night.

The best Indian food in the city, and I don't just mean Lenexa. Absolutely delish! Make sure you have empty hands upon entering the restaurant to pick up carryout because while you wait you will be handed sample after sample. You will also likely walk away with a carryout drink in a styrofoam cup. I definitely prefer getting take away food to dining in. The vibe in the restaurant just isn't for me, but Korma has a nice dining room. This is my "go to" place when I want amazing curry!

What an awesome and friendly spot for some of the best Indian food I've had in Kansas City! My wife and I went here on a random night where we did not want to cook and were craving some good butter chicken and Korma Sutra did not disappoint! We really loved the Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken, But the hospitality is the one key thing to note, it's like you're getting welcomed into the family or seeing family after a long time! They served us mango lassi and the most amazing chai tea and rice pudding I've ever had that warmed my soul and let us wash our hands with limes and fresh warm water. It was amazing, and made me feel welcomed. We will most certainly be back!

Dive Into a World of Spices and Aromas
At Korma Sutra, spices are not just ingredients; they are the heart and soul of the cuisine. Indian cooking is known for its intricate use of spices, and Korma Sutra takes this to the next level. Every dish is carefully seasoned to ensure the perfect balance of flavors, from the warmth of cumin to the sweetness of cinnamon and the heat of chili peppers.
The spices used at Korma Sutra are of the highest quality, sourced directly from India to ensure authenticity. This commitment to quality is evident in every bite, whether you're enjoying a simple naan bread or a complex biryani. The lamb biryani, in particular, is a must-try. This dish features tender pieces of lamb cooked with basmati rice and a blend of spices that includes saffron, cardamom, and cloves, creating a dish that is fragrant, flavorful, and utterly irresistible.
Explore Traditional Indian Dishes
While Korma Sutra is known for its korma dishes, the menu offers a wide range of traditional Indian dishes that cater to all tastes. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, the Chicken Vindaloo is a popular choice. This dish originates from Goa and is known for its fiery sauce, made with vinegar, garlic, and red chili peppers. The chicken is marinated in this spicy sauce and then slow-cooked to absorb all the flavors, resulting in a dish that is both spicy and tangy.
If you prefer something milder, the Butter Chicken is a great option. This dish is a favorite among diners for its rich, creamy sauce made with tomatoes, butter, and a blend of spices. The chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices before being cooked in the sauce, resulting in a dish that is flavorful yet mild enough for those who are new to Indian cuisine.
Another must-try dish is the Dal Makhani, a vegetarian dish made with black lentils, butter, and cream. This dish is slow-cooked for hours to allow the flavors to develop, resulting in a dish that is rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It pairs perfectly with naan or rice, making it a satisfying meal on its own.
Pair Your Meal with Traditional Indian Breads and Beverages
No Indian meal is complete without a selection of traditional breads and beverages, and Korma Sutra does not disappoint in this regard. The naan bread, baked in a traditional tandoor oven, is soft and fluffy with just the right amount of char. It’s perfect for soaking up the rich sauces of the curries.
For a more indulgent option, try the Garlic Naan or Cheese Naan, both of which add an extra layer of flavor to your meal. The Roti and Paratha are also great choices, offering a different texture and flavor profile compared to naan.
To complement your meal, Korma Sutra offers a variety of traditional Indian beverages. The Mango Lassi, a yogurt-based drink with sweet mango flavor, is a favorite among diners for its refreshing taste. It’s the perfect way to cool down after a spicy meal. For something a bit more unique, try the Masala Chai, a spiced tea that is both warming and flavorful.
